Residents began lining up early for GSB's recent shredding and recycling event.
Responsibility matters. This September, Guilford Savings Bank (GSB) will continue to do its part in protecting the identity of the local community and protecting the Earth through green recycling efforts.
GSB will host a free paper shredding and computer recycling event at its North Madison location, 494 Old Toll Road, Madison, on Saturday, September 28th from 9:00 am – 1:00 pm. The event provides free paper shredding for individuals (non-business/commercial), as well as free on-site recycling of up to two computers with secure hard drive destruction.
“We want to make sure that the local community has the opportunity to protect their identity by safely disposing of their sensitive documents and outdated computers,” said Margaret Livingston, President and CEO.
Since 2008, GSB has been providing free shredding and recycling events along the shoreline, most recently this past April in Guilford. In only 4 hours, thousands of pounds of paper, hundreds of hard drives and numerous hampers of computer equipment were collected for recycling.
All of the paper brought to the event is safely shredded on-site and turned into paper pulp to be used again. Electronics brought to the event are sorted and reusable materials are recycled for use in new consumer products.
