To Our GSB Community,
Thank you for your patience and understanding as we continue to adapt to this ever-changing environment. We remain accessible online, by phone, at our drive-thru and in-person by appointment - with the safety of you, our team and community in mind.
For our business customers regarding the 2021 PPP reopening:
PPP will reopen on Monday, January 11, for “community financial institutions” to make first-draw loans (second-draw loans will reopen on Wednesday, January 13). Under current law governing the PPP, GSB is NOT considered a community financial institution.1
On Friday, January 15, the SBA opened the program to "other banks". GSB will accept applications via the Lendio online portal, a third-party loan processor.
If you are a GSB customer, please click here to apply. Note that you may receive emails or calls from a Lendio representative.
For businesses not banking with GSB, we offer the ability to submit applications to the Lendio portal2, which will provide interested parties access to a consortium of participating SBA approved lenders.
The SBA has issued Guidance and two interim final rules (First IFR and Second IFR) provide details of the program and the major changes imposed by the current Coronavirus relief bill.
For any questions regarding the 2021 PPP reopening please contact us PPP@gsbyourbank.com.
With regard to existing PPP loans, please review the section below, "12/3/2020 Update: SBA Paycheck Protection Program (PPP)" for information on Loan Forgiveness. If you have questions about an existing PPP loan, please contact us as PPPLoanForgiveness@gsbyourbank.com.
1Definition of “Community Financial Institutions”: (1)a community development financial institution; (2) a minority depository institution; (3) a development company that is certified under title V of the Small Business Investment Act of 1958 (15 U.S.C. 695 et seq.); and (4) microloan intermediaries.
2 In this capacity, GSB is solely acting as an intermediary, free of charge, as a service to our customers and the CT business community at large. Lendio will work directly with the loan applicant and SBA approved lenders to process and submit the loan to the SBA. GSB will not have access to the application or status of these applications at any time. A chat function is available within the portal should you have any questions during the application process. You may also reach them by calling (801) 858-3322 or customerservice@lendio.com. By accessing this portal, the applicant acknowledges and agrees to hold GSB harmless from any and all liability pertaining to its use.
Appointments may be arranged by contacting us via telephone or Appointments@GSByourbank.com.

Paycheck Protection Program Loan Forgiveness
To apply for forgiveness of your Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) loan, you (the Borrower) must complete an application and submit it to us following your 8-week or 24-week Covered Period of your PPP Loan. We will be sending you specific instructions as well as a link to your Forgiveness Application.
We are now accepting applications from all borrowers.
On December 1, following a court order, the Small Business Administration released public data about Paycheck Protection Program borrowers - specifically, the borrowers' names, addresses, exact loan amounts and who their PPP lenders were. We did not publicly disclose the data and played no role in the court decision. On December 3 we notified all borrowers by email. Read the full update here.
For more information, please refer to the SBA's updated PPP FAQs and the PPP Loan Forgiveness Factsheet.
If you have a question that is not addressed in the FAQs, please email our team at PPPLoanForgiveness@gsbyourbank.com and we will respond as soon as possible.
Please review our helpful tips: Keeping Your Information Secure During a Pandemic
Since our founding in 1875, GSB has remained a strong financial institution. We are well-positioned to weather this economic situation.
GSB is insured by the FDIC. The FDIC has released many reassuring statements during this time, including a reminder to Americans that FDIC-insured banks remain the safest place to keep their money. Their message is strong, "Since 1933, no depositer has ever lost a penny of FDIC-Insured funds."
For those who have additional questions about deposit insurance, the FDIC has complied a list of Frequently Asked Questions for Bank Customers affected by Coronavirus Disease 2019, linked here.
We intend to remain in communication with our community throughout the weeks ahead. We invite you to follow us on social media for timely updates and information.

Thank you for choosing GSB – we are honored to be your bank.
